Charles Gendron, our August 2018 Brand Ambassador!

Hello Charles and thank you for accepting our invitation! This month you have the honor and the privilege of being our Brand Ambassador. What does this mean for you?

A great pride! I have the chance to represent a brand that is both current and very well known … and I’m also a customer! It is therefore a real honor to have been selected and it is with great pleasure that I accepted this invitation!

Your Instagram page shows how stylish you truly are. We even noticed and admire your “promise ring” from our collection. Can you tell us in what circumstances it was offered to you?

It was my boyfriend who offered the ring to me during a trip a few months ago, this beautiful promise ring! I received it on the formal anniversary of our relationship.

The month of August celebrates Montreal’s gay community with its hugely popular Gay Pride event. Did you take part this year? Do you have some tips to give our readers to make the most of this event?

Unfortunately, I could not fully enjoy the event as I am currently juggling two jobs at the moment. However, I still went downtown and took a small break at work to enjoy it!  I believe the best way to experience Gay Pride is to be yourself and not be afraid to display your colors. It’s cliché yes, but true. There is nothing better than being yourself to have fun and enjoy an event!

Our brand has been in existence for more than 70 years. We capitalize on this experience to create, every year, rich, original and varied collections aimed at a dynamic, young and style-worthy clientele. Charles, as a fan of our on-trend jewellery, can you reveal to our readers your favorite Doucet Latendresse items?

First and foremost:  the promise ring I received as a gift (of course)! This is the 10 karat white gold band with a small diamond in the center. It is elegant and very simple at the same time.

On the women’s side, I fell in love with a similar ring (10K white gold wedding band with diamond center). Here again the ring combines simplicity, originality and elegance.

I also have a soft spot for 2 watches: The Caravelle New York men’s watch with a black leather strap and yellow gold stainless steel case. I’m not usually a big fan of yellow gold, but this watch is just beautiful and… extremely affordable! My second “crush” is the minimalist Citizen Eco drive watch for men in a black stainless steel bracelet with a black dial  … it gives a youthful, sporty look that I love!

And finally our last question is: knowing that the summer holidays have come to an end for many students (of which you are part 😉), what is your fall-winter “look” for this new year? From head to toe … without omitting the most important must-haves… jewellery and accessories!

A pair of chinos or carrot fit; stripe or check print trousers remain my essential go-to for a stylish and comfortable look. For a rather casual look, both for the guys and gals, I recommend my favorite all-time classic: a pair of distressed, ripped jeans combined with a white or black t-shirt!

I even suggest to wear clothing with any print to add punch to your wardrobe. It’s awesome! It’s even a challenge for people like me who, are traditionally fans of wearing only a black and white wardrobe!Regarding accessories, I love silver rings and simple bracelets. A sleek watch with a bit of detailing and a black leather strap … and you’re done! Remember, a stylish and simple watch goes with everything!
